Beava Payments Policy

Effective date: January 2026

Overview

Beava provides in-app payments so Task Posters can pay securely and Helpers can be paid through Beava. By using Beava Payments, you agree to this policy and Beava's Terms.

How Beava Payments works

  1. A Task Poster selects a Helper and confirms the price and scope.
  2. The Task Poster authorizes Beava to charge the total amount (task amount plus any applicable fees and taxes).
  3. Beava processes the payment and holds the funds for the task.
  4. When the task is completed and confirmed, Beava pays the Helper to their payout method, minus any applicable fees.

Beava is not a bank. Payment processing and payout services are provided through third-party payment processors.

Payment authorization

When a Task Poster confirms payment, Beava may authorize (temporary hold) or charge the payment method immediately, depending on the payment type and task category.

Price changes: Any increase to the total must be explicitly approved in-app by the Task Poster before it is charged.

Fees

Beava charges fees for certain platform features and transactions:

  • Task Poster Fee: 10% platform service fee (added to task amount at checkout)
  • Payment Processing: Included in platform fee (charged by payment networks)
  • Optional features: Subscriptions, boosts, priority matching (prices shown in-app)

All applicable fees are displayed before the Task Poster confirms payment. Task amounts must be between $10 and $5000.

Completion and release of funds

Beava releases payment for payout when:

  • The Task Poster marks the task as Complete, or
  • The task is completed under Beava's in-app flow, or
  • Auto-release occurs after 2 days following Helper completion (unless disputed)

If a Task Poster believes the task wasn't completed as agreed, they must open a dispute within 3 days of completion to pause payout.

Cancellations and refunds

Refund eligibility depends on task status and timing:

  • Before booking: Full refund or authorization cancellation
  • After booking, before work starts: Full or partial refund minus a 5% cancellation fee
  • After work starts: Partial refund based on work completed and evidence

Cancellation fee: A 5% cancellation fee applies after a Helper is booked to cover payment processing costs.

Some fees (like payment processing fees) may be non-refundable where the processor does not return them.

Credits

Beava may issue Credits for promotions, referrals, or customer support adjustments.

  • Credits are spendable like cash for eligible Beava charges
  • Credits are not redeemable for cash withdrawal or payout
  • Credits are non-transferable except when used to pay for eligible Beava charges, and may not be sold
  • Credits may be refunded back to your credits balance where applicable (not cashed out)
  • Credits expire after 12 months (shown in-app) and may be revoked if used fraudulently

Disputes

If there is a disagreement about quality, scope, timing, or payment:

  • Open a dispute within 3 days after completion
  • Disputes may place a temporary hold on payout while Beava reviews evidence
  • Beava may release payout in full, issue a partial refund, require revisions, or take other actions

Helper payouts

To receive payouts, Helpers may need to:

  • Provide a valid payout method (e.g., bank transfer)
  • Complete identity verification where required
  • Provide accurate legal name and required details

Payouts are typically initiated within 3 business days after funds are released. Helpers are independent service providers, not employees of Beava, and are responsible for their own taxes.
